## Where keyframes live

Keyframes are set in the Inspector, beside the value they animate. For ready-made motion, open **Animation** under **Creative tools**: zoom, entrance, exit, emphasis and loop presets, text motion, and the list of everything applied to the clip.

## Add a keyframe

1. Move the playhead to the frame you want to key.
2. Click the **diamond** on the parameter row to key its current value.
3. Move to another frame and change the value; a second key creates motion between them.

> **Warning:** You cannot add a keyframe inside a transition region, or with the playhead outside the clip bounds — the diamond is disabled there.

## What you can animate

| Clip type | Animatable values |
| --- | --- |
| All visual clips | X / Y position, width, height, rotation, opacity, corner radius |
| Video | Adds anchor point, the four crop edges, crop softness, and volume |
| Text | Adds preset scale, font size, line height, padding, background radius, shadow, and stroke |
| Audio | Volume in decibels |

> **Note:** Effects also contribute their own animatable parameters — look for the keyframe toggle beside each slider.

## Review and clean up motion

Live behaviors such as drift, breath, shake, and spin evaluate during playback without creating property keys.

- **Applied** in the Animation panel lists manual keys, presets and live behaviors on the clip; select one to jump to it, or remove it.
- Choose **Bake to keyframes** to convert live layer behaviors into editable keys.
- Use **Trim animation** when a clip trim leaves stored keys outside its visible duration.
- Clear every keyframe on the selected clips with `⇧A`.
